Unsend an Email in Gmail
Tuesday, December 8th, 2009
Notice that you’ve forgotten a file attachment in that email you just send. Feeling regret sending that email? It can be rather frustrating when there’s nothing you can do to retrieve back a regrettable email.
It’s never too late with the new “Undo Send” lab feature for Gmail. The “Undo Send” lab feature is created by Yuzo Fujishima, an engineer in the Tokyo office. This lab feature will hold your email for five seconds so you still have chance to hit the panic button.
First be sure to enable the “Undo Send” feature in Gmail. Here’s how you can enable this great lab feature:
1. Login to your Gmail account (works the same for Google Apps users).
2. Click on “Settings” located on the top right hand corner.

3. Click on the “Labs” tab.

4. Enable the “Undo Send” lab feature.

5. Finally click on “Save Changes”.

To unsend an email that you’ve send:
1. Click on “Undo” (Remember you only five seconds to hit the undo before it’s gone)

2. You will be redirected to the email (Noted the status above showing – Sending has been undone).

3. Make necessary amendments and resend the email again.
With this great lab feature enabled, it has saved me many times! Hope it saves you too!
